THE EPISTLE LESSON: 2 Timothy 4:6-8, 16-18
Paul comprehended the spiritual struggle that made up his life, and was grateful that he had finished the course and kept the faith. He saw how undependable people can be, as he stood alone in his first trial before Caesar. But God is faithful, and the Lord stood by Paul and strengthened him throughout his life. The Lord delivered Paul from every evil and preserved him unto eternal life. So the Lord watches over us and preserves us unto eternal life!
THE OLD TESTAMENT LESSON: Deuteronomy 10:12-22
We owe the Lord absolute faithfulness for He is Lord of all! We should love the stranger and the fatherless, for the Lord has loved us and adopted us into His family. Even as He richly blessed the children of Israel so He has also blessed us in all our ways; far more than we could have ever imagined.
