THE EPISTLE LESSON: Romans 10:12-21
The Lord declares there is no distinction between Jew and Gentile. God is rich in His grace toward both. Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. But that can only happen when people have the truth of the gospel, and they can only hear when the preachers are sent out into the world. So as foretold by the prophets God’s grace has come to us, people who did not seek God, people who were disobedient. Praise God who has brought to us the glad tidings of salvation.

THE GOSPEL LESSON: John 1:36-51
John the Baptist pointed out Jesus to his disciples, declaring, Behold the Lamb of God!” So they were brought to know and believe that Jesus is the promised Savior. The fruits of their faith was their fervent desire to share with friends and family the joy they had in the Lord. They told others that Jesus was the Messiah, the One of whom Moses and the prophets had written. May the Spirit open our eyes to see Jesus’ glory here and in eternity.
