THE EPISTLE LESSON: Acts 3:1-10
The power of Jesus was made apparent in the miracle performed by Peter and John. It demonstrated that they as Jesus’ apostles possessed His authority, and the power of His Word and His Spirit was with them. We also can confidently believe the Word that has come to us through the Apostles knowing it has the power of the Lord to save us from sin and death.

THE OLD TESTAMENT LESSON: Genesis 15:1-6
One of the most precious assurances the Lord gave to Abram is one we still treasure today. Fear not Abram, I am your shield and your exceedingly great reward.” While promises specific to Abram’s life were given him by the Lord the greatest grace was that God called Abram to be His child and heir of everlasting life. This same blessing is ours also by the grace of God. God’s Word and promise is sure. As we believe the Word of God He is gracious toward us also that He counts this faith toward us as righteousness.
