THE EPISTLE LESSON: Acts 9:1-19
The power of the Word of the Lord is evident in Saul’s conversion. He resisted the Lord and persecuted those who believed, and yet even this man was brought to faith by the power of Spirit working through the word of Jesus! Let us also learn a greater appreciation of the power of the Gospel, and obey the Lord’s instruction to reach out to those caught in the darkness of unbelief. They also may prove to be powerful witnesses of God’s grace.

THE OLD TESTAMENT LESSON: Genesis 19:15-26
God is merciful! He delivers us from judgment, but we need to take His Word and warnings seriously. Lot was instructed to flee from the judgment to come, and not look back. But his wife looked back upon Sodom and Gomorrah and immediate judgment came upon her. Heed the warnings of the Lord regarding the lure of this world. Flee from evil, lest judgment also befall us! The wickedness of this world brings death. The Word of the Lord brings life!
