THE EPISTLE LESSON: Acts 24:22-26
Paul, a prisoner because of false charges of the Jews brought against him, testified boldly concerning Christ and the way that leads to salvation. Remaining a prisoner for over two years, Paul continued speaking about that righteousness which is ours in Christ, and about self-control, and the judgment to come. May the Spirit open our lips to speak boldly of these truths vital to people’s eternal souls.
THE OLD TESTAMENT LESSON: Exodus 17:1-7
It doesn’t take long for us frail and sinful humans to forget the great deliverance of the Lord and begin to complain and fret that the Lord may be neglecting us in our time of need. What appears as a massive and impossible problem for man is easy for the Lord who can do all things. So God through Moses provided abundant fresh water for all the people. May we trust the almighty God who loves us and is faithful to care for us in our every need.
