THE GOSPEL LESSON: Matthew 11:25-30
We came to faith because the Lord revealed His truth to us in Christ Jesus our Lord, not because we were smarter or wiser than others in the world. It is a matter of grace for which we praise the Lord. This grace continues. We turn to the Lord with all our burdens in life, the greatest being our burden of sin and guilt, and in Jesus we find rest for our souls.
THE OLD TESTAMENT LESSON: Numbers 24:10-17
The wise and powerful of the world have always attempted to defy God, and take matters into their own hands, and subdue the will of God for the salvation of His chosen people. The true Ruler over all is the Star that would rise out Judah, Jesus our Lord. He holds the scepter of divine power. He is Lord of all now and forever.
