Sermon: Read Sermon

THE ORDER OF SERVICE: p. 15
HYMNS: 246; 611; 311:1-5; 313:2
THE EPISTLE LESSON: Hebrews 10:11-18
Jesus did what no one else could ever do. “By one offering He perfected forever those wo are being sanctified.” (v.14) Because of this God will not remember our sins, and there is no further need for an offering for sin. We are redeemed! Our salvation is assured!

THE GOSPEL LESSON: John 5:25-29
The hour is coming when the dead will hear Jesus’ voice and will rise. Jesus Himself will judge, because He is the One who came down to earth from heaven above, took on our human nature, fulfilled all righteousness, and then died for us. For some this will be a resurrection to eternal life; for others it shall be a resurrection to eternal condemnation.

AY’S SCRIPTURES

THE EPISTLE LESSON: Hebrews 10:11-18

11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, 13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. 14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

15 But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,

16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” 17 then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” 18 Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin. (NKJV)

THE EPISTLE LESSON: John 5:25-29

25 Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, 27 and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. 28 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. (NKJV)

THE SERMON TEXT: Daniel 12:1-3

“At that time Michael shall stand up,
The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people;
And there shall be a time of trouble,
Such as never was since there was a nation,
Even to that time.
And at that time your people shall be delivered,
Every one who is found written in the book.
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
Some to everlasting life,
Some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Those who are wise shall shine
Like the brightness of the firmament,
And those who turn many to righteousness
Like the stars forever and ever. (NKJV)
