We need to be more aware that we are not simply individual Christians making our way through this life until we reach our heavenly goal. We are part of a larger body, a body made of many members, but one body nonetheless. All the distinctions we may make, whether we are rich or poor, black or white, all these are artificial. We were all baptized into that one body, and then blessed with the Spirit’s gift to serve that body.
THE GOSPEL LESSON: Matthew 28:18-20
The Lord Jesus commissioned His Church with the purpose it is to fulfill until the end of the age. We are to make disciples of all nations, preaching and baptizing in the name of the one true God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus is always with us.
